Under Eye Fat Grafting

Under eye fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer, begins with the extraction of fat from a donor site on the patient's body, typically the abdomen, thighs, or flanks, using liposuction techniques. The area is first anesthetized with a local anesthetic to ensure comfort, and small incisions are made for the insertion of a cannula. This thin tube is gently moved back and forth to dislodge the fat cells, which are then aspirated into a syringe or sterile container. The collected fat undergoes a purification process that typically involves centrifugation or filtration to remove any impurities, excess fluids, and damaged cells, ensuring that only the healthiest fat cells are used for the graft.

The prepared, purified fat is then carefully injected into the under-eye area to address concerns such as tear trough deformities, hollow eyes, or dark circles. Under local anesthesia, small amounts of fat are strategically placed into the under-eye region through a series of microinjections. This step is performed meticulously to ensure smooth, even contouring and to avoid complications such as lumps or irregularities. The fat is layered in a way that simulates the natural subcutaneous structure to achieve a natural-looking augmentation. Post-procedure, patients can expect some swelling and bruising, which typically subsides within a few weeks. Long-term results can be observed after several months, as the transferred fat establishes a new blood supply and integrates with the surrounding tissue, providing a rejuvenated and youthful appearance.
