Sculptra

Sculptra is a facial injectable treatment designed to stimulate collagen production and gradually restore facial volume lost due to aging or other factors. The procedure typically begins with a consultation where a licensed medical professional assesses the patient's facial structure, discusses aesthetic goals, and evaluates medical history to ensure suitability for the treatment. On the day of the procedure, the treatment area is thoroughly cleansed and a topical anesthetic is often applied to minimize discomfort. Sculptra, composed of poly-L-lactic acid, is then injected into the deeper layers of the skin using fine needles. The number of injections and the specific injection sites vary based on the individual’s needs and the desired results.

Post-injection, the healthcare provider will massage the treated areas to ensure even product distribution and to prevent the formation of nodules. Patients are often instructed to continue massaging the treated areas at home five times a day for five minutes each time, over a period of five days. Mild swelling, redness, or bruising may occur, but these side effects typically resolve within a few days. Sculptra's effects are not immediate; rather, the treatment works to gradually increase collagen production over several weeks to months. Multiple treatments, usually spaced four to six weeks apart, may be necessary to achieve optimal results. The improvements in facial volume and texture can last up to two years, making Sculptra a long-lasting option for non-surgical facial rejuvenation.
