PRP Hair Loss
Description
Procedure, or Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy, is a therapeutic approach used to treat hair loss conditions. It's a three-step procedure that necessitates drawing a patient's blood, processing it, and then injecting it into the scalp. Primarily, it encourages natural hair growth by improving the supply of blood to the hair follicles and thickening the hair shaft. The processing of the blood includes separating it into three layers: platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma, and red blood cells. The separated platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the scalp of the patient stimulating hair growth. During this process, the patient's blood is first drawn and placed in a centrifuge for about 10 minutes. The centrifuge spins the blood at a high speed causing it to separate into the above-mentioned layers. The layer of platelet-rich plasma is collected and then injected into the areas of the scalp where the hair is thinning or falling out. This PRP contains growth factors and proteins that accelerates tissue repair and regeneration. As a result, when injected into the scalp, it can stimulate inactive or newly implanted hair follicles into an active growth phase, helping mitigate the hair loss. This non-surgical procedure has shown promising results in enhancing hair growth and thickness.
