PRP Fat Grafting

PRP fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer with PRP, is a minimally invasive procedure designed to enhance volume and rejuvenate the skin by combining the patient's own fat and platelet-rich plasma. The process begins with the extraction of fat, usually from areas where it is in excess, such as the abdomen, thighs, or flanks. This harvested fat is then purified through a centrifugation process or filtered to remove any impurities and excess fluids, ensuring only the highest quality fat cells are used. Concurrently, a small amount of the patient's blood is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to create PRP, which is rich in growth factors that aid in tissue regeneration.

Procedure Steps: Once the fat and PRP are prepared, the purified fat is evenly mixed with the PRP. The combination is then carefully injected into the targeted areas requiring volume enhancement or rejuvenation, typically the face, hands, breasts, or buttocks. The use of a fine cannula ensures precise placement and minimizes trauma to surrounding tissues. The PRP component plays a critical role in accelerating healing, reducing inflammation, and promoting the integration of the grafted fat cells with the surrounding tissues. Post-procedure, patients may experience mild swelling and bruising, which typically resolves within a few days. The results of PRP fat grafting can be long-lasting, as the fat cells establish a blood supply and integrate into the existing tissue, with the added benefits of improved skin texture and elasticity from the PRP.
