Mouth Corner Lift Botox
Description
Mouth Corner Lift Botox is a cosmetic procedure aimed at elevating the corners of the mouth that sag due to age or frown lines, using Botox. The treatment uses Botox injections to relax the depressor muscles (the muscles that pull the corners of the mouth down) in the lower face, allowing the elevator muscles (the muscles that lift the corners of the mouth) to pull up the corners of the mouth effectively, resulting in a more positive facial expression. Some patients may have a naturally downturned mouth which can give a grumpy or sad look, and this procedure can help to counteract that. To commence the procedure, the dermatologist will mark the areas for Botox injection in the lower face. A thin needle is then used to deliver the Botox into the targeted depressor muscles. Notably, this procedure is usually quick, and the number of Botox units used may vary based on the individual's facial muscle strength. Typically, the result from mouth corner lift Botox is not immediate. It takes around 5 to 10 days for the full effects to show, leaving the patient with an uplifted and refreshing smile. Moreover, the procedure is temporary, the effect lasts from three to six months, and therefore follow-up treatments are necessary to maintain the result.
