Monsplasty
Monsplasty
Monsplasty, also known as Pubic Lift, is a surgical procedure aimed at reducing and tightening the mons pubis, which is the fatty tissue located above the pubic bone. This area can become enlarged for a number of reasons including weight gain, aging, hormones, or genetics and can cause discomfort in clothing or during physical activity. In some cases, weight loss might exacerbate the issue resulting in sagging skin in the area which also can be addressed with this surgery.
The procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia and takes between one to two hours. The surgeon will make a horizontal incision along the natural crease of the mons pubis to remove excess skin and fat, then carefully pulls the remaining skin taut and closes the incision. Depending on the degree of laxity, liposuction may also be performed to further sculpt the area. After surgery, patients are normally able to return home on the same day, provided they are in stable condition. Post-surgery steps typically involve wearing a compression garment to reduce swelling and support the healing process as well as following specific care instructions provided by the surgeon. The recovery period usually takes a few weeks.
