Lip reduction surgery, also known as cheiloplasty, is a cosmetic procedure aimed at decreasing the size of overly prominent lips to achieve a more balanced facial appearance. Prior to the surgery, a consultation with a plastic surgeon is crucial to discuss the patient’s aesthetic goals and review their medical history. On the day of the procedure, local anesthesia or, in some cases, general anesthesia is administered to ensure patient comfort. Most individuals can resume their normal activities within a week or two but full recovery might take a few months, allowing the final shape and size of the lips to settle.
