Forehead Lift

A forehead lift, also known as a brow lift, is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at reducing wrinkles and creases on the forehead, as well as repositioning sagging eyebrows to create a more youthful and refreshed appearance. The procedure begins with the administration of anesthesia, either general or local with sedation, to ensure the patient’s comfort. Depending on the specific technique chosen by the surgeon, incisions are made either at the hairline or within the hair-bearing scalp. One common technique is the endoscopic forehead lift, where small incisions are made behind the hairline, and an endoscope (a specialized camera) is inserted to allow the surgeon to visualize the underlying tissues. Using special instruments, the surgeon then lifts and repositions the forehead tissues and secures them in place with sutures or special anchors.

After making the necessary adjustments, the incisions are carefully closed with sutures or staples, and the area is typically covered with dressings to minimize swelling and promote healing. The entire procedure usually takes between one to two hours, depending on the complexity and the individual patient’s anatomy. Following the surgery, patients are monitored for a brief period before being allowed to go home the same day with post-operative care instructions. Recovery time varies, but most patients can return to normal activities within 10 to 14 days, although strenuous activities should be avoided for several weeks. The forehead lift can result in a noticeable rejuvenation of the upper face, reducing forehead lines and elevating the brows to a more youthful position.
