Emsculpt
Description
Emsculpt is a non-invasive body contouring procedure that uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to build muscle and reduce fat. During the procedure, a specialized Emsculpt device is placed on the target area, such as the abdomen or buttocks. This device delivers HIFEM energy which causes supramaximal contractions in the muscles. This is akin to performing an extreme workout without actually engaging in physical activity. The intense contractions stimulate the muscles to grow and can lead to a reduced fat layer. The typical treatment plan involves four 30-minute sessions, usually spread over a two-week period. During an Emsculpt procedure, patients lie down while the procedure is performed. It does not require any anesthesia or incisions. The sensation experienced during an Emsculpt session is often compared to an intense workout, but without the physical exertion. While temporary muscle soreness after the procedure is common, there are no significant side effects or downtime associated with Emsculpt. The end result of Emsculpt treatment is typically increased muscle density and a potential decrease in body fat percentage. However, individual results may vary, and this treatment is best used in conjunction with a regular exercise routine and healthy diet. It is also recommended to do Emsculpt touch-ups every six months for maintaining results.
