Deep Plane Facelift
Deep Plane Facelift
A deep plane facelift is a surgical procedure that aims to restore a more youthful appearance to the face by reducing or improving sagging facial skin, jowls, and loose neck skin. The procedure commences with an incision that begins at the temple area and travels down along the front portion of the ear, encircling the earlobe, and finally ending at the hairline. Through this incision, the surgeon accesses the deeper tissue structures (SMAS and Platysma) below the skin's superficial layer. Unlike traditional facelift surgeries that only manipulate the superficial skin, a deep plane facelift works at a deeper level to help restore the midface, cheek, and neck areas to a more natural-appearing youthful look.
During a deep plane facelift, the underlying muscles and tissues are repositioned and the excess skin is removed. The result is a lift that not only looks natural but feels soft to the touch and is long-lasting. This is a meticulous procedure that requires skill and experience to ensure that the facial nerves are not disturbed or damaged. The main advantage of this procedure is that it delivers a beautifully rejuvenated face and neck, correcting the signs of aging without any telltale signs of surgery. On completion of the procedure, sutures are carefully placed to minimize any potential scarring. Post-surgical expectations include a certain amount of swelling and bruising, which will generally subside within 2 weeks.
