Clitoral Hood Reduction
Description
Clitoral Hood Reduction is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to reduce the size of the clitoral hood which is the fold of skin that protects the clitoris. This procedure is ideal for women who find their clitoral hood too large or overly protruding which may affect their sexual satisfaction or self-confidence. The objective is to improve the aesthetic appearance and potentially enhance sexual stimulation. The Clitoral Hood Reduction procedure is usually done under local anesthesia and takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete. First, the surgeon will use a special marking pen to denote the areas that will be reduced or removed. Once the markings are done, the surgeon will make a small incision to remove the excess tissue. The incision is closed with dissolvable sutures. After the surgery, topical antibiotics would be applied to prevent infections. It is natural to experience some swelling and discomfort after the procedure, but these symptoms will fade gradually. The recovery period typically takes around one to two weeks, during which sexual activities should be avoided.
