Autologous Stem Cell Therapy

Autologous Stem Cell Therapy >

Autologous Stem Cell Therapy

is a groundbreaking medical procedure that uses a patient's own stem cells to repair damaged or diseased tissue. Stem cells are gathered from the patient's body, either from the bone marrow or peripheral blood, using a specialized extraction procedure. Once the stem cells are harvested, they are typically cultured in a lab where they can multiply and generate a sufficient number for the treatment. Afterward, these stem cells undergo meticulous testing to ensure they will not cause any adverse effects when re-introduced into the patient’s body. Once confirmed safe, these lab-grown stem cells are then infused back into the patient's body to facilitate healing and tissue regeneration.

The patient receiving autologous stem cell therapy will, in most cases, undergo a single or series of injections. The procedure is usually performed in an outpatient setting and doesn't always require an overnight stay. Once the stem cells are administered, they home in on the damaged areas and start to promote tissue repair. The healing process varies for each individual and depends on their specific condition. However, many patients experience improvements within a few weeks or months post-treatment. This therapy is considered to have a low risk of complications, given that the stem cells come from the patient's own body, reducing the chance of immune rejection. Some common conditions treated with this therapy include arthritis, degenerative disc disease, and some forms of cancer.
