Arm Laser Hair Removal
Description
Arm laser hair removal is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses high-intensity beams of light to remove unwanted hair. The process begins by shaving the hair on the arms to just above the skin's surface. After doing so, a cooling gel is applied to the skin to minimize any discomfort or damage from the laser. The laser device is adjusted according to the color, thickness, and location of the hair being treated as well as the patient's skin color. The procedure is then executed as the laser beams are directed towards the hair follicles. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicles, which inhibits hair growth in the future. The procedure usually takes between 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. Patients tend to experience a slight stinging sensation, akin to a rubber band being snapped against the skin. Post-treatment, patients may experience some skin irritation and redness, but these side effects are typically temporary. The number of treatments required varies from individual to individual based on their hair growth cycle but generally, most people need four to six treatments to achieve the desired results. It is recommended to space these treatments four to six weeks apart. The arm laser hair removal process is a gradual one, as hair is reduced over time rather than removed instantly.
